Paris Pictures! Sarah Esther Photography

Bonjour. Wanted to share some of my favorite images from my recent trip to Paris! Paris is beautiful, exquisite, romantic...everything you expect from it and more. I went with three of my closest friends and one of my favorite memories was our bike tour around the city at night which we finished off with a glass of wine on board a boat down the Seine.

New Website and Blog coming this week!

Best of the Week Photo Contest is back! Vote on Your favorite Photo!

Hi Friends! Our "Best of the Week" photo contest is back. We took a break for our boudoir and engagement season in January and February and are excited to start back up again. Sarah Esther Photography is expanding, and I'm looking to start an entirely separate boudoir photography branch because of how this genre is exploding! I am almost entirely booked with weddings for the upcoming year, but am still looking to book two or three more. Wanting to focus on quality rather than quantity, I am limiting the number of weddings I will shoot in order to ensure every bride feels valued. Also, our new website will hopefully be launched sometime in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned for the beautiful new design by Lisa Beers Design.

Vote on your favorite photo using the link to the left. The winner receives a $10 print credit to Pictage. Happy Monday and happy voting!

Savannah Wedding Photography | Margaret and Tanner Tie the Knot!

Check out the slideshow of Margaret and Tanner's Savannah Wedding!
Tanner is from Kansas and Margaret is from Savannah, but their paths crossed at a summer camp in Hawaii where they both were counselors.  They quickly hit it off as friends, and kept in touch through the years. Each summer, they'd try to get assigned to the same camp locations and visit each other during the school year. Before college, their friendship turned into a romantic relationship full  of handwritten love letters and brief visits. Their families both saw the stars align above these two, and when they broke off their relationship, no one was convinced they were done for good. During college they each dated other people, all the while keeping in touch like old friends.

Tanner ended his relationship, and Margaret found herself single, too. All it took was one visit to Kansas City, and the two were inseperable again. I had the privilege of catching breakfast with Margaret at Chick-Fil-A the day after she came back from her visit.. she looked me in the eye and told me she was going to marry him. Margaret is definitely not the 'lovey-dovey' romantic type that falls hard and fast, so I knew her feelings ran deep.

I once heard someone say that a bride is never more beautiful than she is in his eyes the very first time he sees her.  It was a beautiful moment full of emotion. Margaret's stunning dress is designed by Pronovias.
The two married in Margaret's home town, Savannah, GA, where they will begin their first year of marriage. It was a cool 65 degree December day. Margaret and Tanner were surrounded by close friends and family, most of whom they have known since childhood.
A Savannah wedding would not be complete without a trolley ride and some fun street shots!
What a good looking wedding party! Harvey Designs did the gorgeous white flowers for the wedding party.

The traditional catholic wedding was beautiful, and the reception was held at Savannah Station, a refurbished train station off of the river. They danced the night away to Van Morrison Covers and Ben Harper love songs.
Margaret's family pulled out gag-gifts of mustaches and maracas during the reception and insisted to wear them. Everyone, even Margaret's grandmother, was on the dance floor. A trolley took guests back to the hotel, and the love birds snuck out to catch some rest before an early morning flight to Jamaica!

Atlanta's Crazy Snow Week!

I don't think there has been this much snow in Atlanta since the infamous blizzard of '93 where we all got to stay home from school for a week and eat all the food out of the freezer because we didn't have power! Who remembers this?

I woke up Monday and this was my front porch!

My roommate Emily and ventured out into the white gorgeousness for some pictures. People were out sledding, building snowmen, and everything kids like to do on snow days. Its funny how you never grow out of the excitement that comes from the few big snow falls the south gets!

Enjoying the snow is always fun, no matter how old you get:)

{Emily and I}We were freeeeezzzing, but managed to both get some great shots.
Atlanta is beautiful in the snow!

And for all the big footprints and little footprints that went out in the snow this week.

Happy snow WEEK! Its been fun...but I am ready for 80 degrees and sunny! How about you?

Atlanta Engagement and Wedding Photography | Matt and Lauren

The story of these two unfolded pretty unexpectedly. Matt and Lauren's first 'dat'e was seemingly an accident, as Lauren had commissioned Matt to design her business cards and thought it'd be great to discuss the project over dinner one night at Baraonda in Atlanta. The rest, they say, is history.

What started out as a business dinner ended in a date, and thus began their romance. Both Matt and Lauren say their personalities clicked from the beginning and they did not want to be with anyone else. Lauren has waited patiently for Mr. Right to come along, and her efforts paid off as Matt is her first and last relationship. Matt is a bit of a sarcastic spirit and his dry comments leave Lauren in stiches; they never stop laughing when together.
Matt Proposed to Lauren at the High Museum, as a complete surprise to her. He had her family waiting in the Robinson Atrium (no relation to him, but he planned it to signify her new last name!)

We started their engagement session on a chilly Saturday at San Francisco Coffee Company in Virginia Highlands. We were all so happy to be around hot coffee and muffins.

The two spend a lot of time there, and it's one of the places they went on their first 'date'. Matt brought along a vintage type writer that they are also using at their wedding as part of their wedding guest book.

After hanging out at San Francisco Coffee for a little while, we made our way to the High Museum so capture the two in the place where he proposed. The light and the lines inside the High always make me swoon and it really is one of my favorite places to shoot. Matt and Lauren will be married in April, congrats guys! Unfortunately, I will not be shooting their wedding, as they already hired a wedding photographer before the engagement session.

Look at her gorgeous engagement ring!
Best Wishes to Matt and Lauren!
