Emily transferred to North Georgia, where she met John and was instantly attracted to him because of the jeep he restored. (same jeep they drove away from the reception in!) However, she had a boyfriend but luckily for John, the relationship was not going well.
Emily broke up with her boyfriend and her and John started spending more and more time together and eventually starting dating.
They dated all the way through college. They were both involved in the Greek system and their respective affiliations were active with each other, enabling them to spend a lot of time together.
Something sweet about their relationship? Emily has terms of endearment for John ("JBear" and "JJ") and he will only let her call him these names.
Emily and John were engaged on the beach in St. Simons. They were married on October 2, 2010 at the Lovely Lane Chapel in St. Simons. The reception took place at the Casino at St. Simons. Emily's dress designed by Pricilla of Boston coordinated beautifully with the bridesmaids dresses.
John bought Emily a house and they are restoring it together:)
And they lived happily ever after!

San Francisco Travel Photography | Sarah Esther
Sometimes you just need to get away. Of course, most of those times happen when you can't get away (which, I think is why we really want to in the first place! oh the cycles.)
Last weekend I had the fantastic pleasure of my wants and my needs actually matching up for a change, and I took off to San Francisco for a little me-and-california time.
San Francisco is one of my absolute favorite cities that I have ever been to. Right now, it's a close second behind Paris (which we will be in come March!). The environment is a perfect blend of coast-meets-city-meets-mountains. I long to engage in portrait photography along the San Francisco Embarcadero. Any takers?
I took so many pictures, and I want to share them all, but I think I'll actually space them out. I'll need a little taste of San Francisco every week, so maybe I'll post a few a week until I go back. Sounds like a plan.

Atlanta Wedding Photographer | Cody and Katie's Piedmont Park Wedding | Park Tavern
Congratulations Katie and Cody Chapman! Check out the slideshow HERE.
One of the most beautiful weddings I've had the privilege of capturing. Cody and Katie are an absolutely beautiful couple. I know Katie from high school, as we sang and danced together through the broadway show Grease! My 'beauty school drop out' singing talent will merit itself another post, but I digress. The wedding took place on September 24th at Park Tavern in Atlanta, Georgia. Park Tavern is appropriately named as it sits on the edge of Piedmont Park; the most beautiful skyline views can be seen from the venue, and often at dusk the entire skyline seems to sparkle. Katie's gorgeously timeless lace dress was from David's Bridal and her flowers designed by Island Flowers Atlanta, GA. Special thank you to them for really creating exactly what she wanted! The bridal party was also dressed in David's Bridal dresses.
Katie and Cody met at the University of Georgia, and cody's dry sense of humor makes everyone at ease; Katie just lights up when he looks at her. The evening was filled with wining and dining, and DANCING. Tunes played through the night and these two got down! Check out the picture of Katie doing the robot with her bridesmaids-one of my favorite shots I captured.
Best wishes to you both as you start on this new journey together~
And as always, thanks for choosing Sarah Esther Photography.

10.11.10 Best of the Week Photo Contest
I am loving these blog photo contests. Thank you all for voting week after week. Congratulations to Jason and Jessica! Your photo won last week's "Best of the Week" photo contest. (Click the link to view).
Went to San Francisco this weekend- kindof an impromptu escapade when my camera broke. Don't we sometimes just need to get out of town? Especially when you get to see the Golden Gate Bridge.
Its always at the most inconvenient times that things [like camera's breaking when you are a photographer] happen. However, the world will keep spinning, my camera will be fixed [hopefully] by the end of the week, and I will be back on track. And a special thanks to Will helping me out with camera issues this week!!

Sarah Esther Photography | Brad and Laura's Beautiful Wedding Celebration at Lake Lanier Island Resort
September 18, 2010, I had the privilege of photographing the wedding between Laura and Brad Birney. What a blessed day!
Click HERE to watch the slideshow of the images from their special day.
Their love for each other radiates. They said their vows at the Lake Lanier Island Resort on the beautiful Venetian Pier overlooking the water. Laura's brides maids helped her into her Demetrios dress and she was one of the most relaxed brides I have ever photographed. She knew at the end of the day she would be married to man of her dreams and that was all that mattered! The day was a little hotter than expected, but Laura was all smiles.

Their love for each other just radiates! |
Brad's friends love Laura and they made her night with their charm, singing and dancing. |
Brad's friends also kept the guests entertained. |
How wonderful to see two people meet, fall in love, and promise to spend the rest of their lives together. Brad loves Laura deeply and she respects him as a great man of character. Their wedding was beautiful in every way and sparklers were a perfect way for the guests to send them off!
And off they go in a '67 Ford Mustang.
