I've known Carrie since before boys were even in the picture, and now she's engaged to one. These images were pretty special to capture, and pretty ridiculously amazing to capture, too. I did squeal a couple of times, and I definitely had on my game face....both of which mean that the session was pretty top-notch. Here are some of my favorites from the day! Enjoy, and please keep the drooling to a minimum .

Atlanta Engagement Session | Robbie and Carrie
Perk up people.... you're about to see two of the most beautiful people in the world. Pretty babies ahead for these two! Carrie and Robbie are probably too hot for GQ, and so they live in Atlanta and teach cheerleading. Hey, life's hard.

In honor of GLEE
I have a special place in my heart for this TV phenomenon that is 'Glee'. I was definitely not the athletic one in high-school, but I can recite a mean monologue :) What can I say, I'm ridiculously cool. Show choir/Drama/county productions were our thing (by 'our' I mean myself and my group of drama-friends). Great times were had... and honestly, what you see on 'Glee' is pretty much true-to-size of what happens behind the scenes! Drama club was full of drama; would we be true to ourselves if it wasn't? Oh...and everyone dated everyone -annnnnnnnnnd we would break out into random song and dance at the lunch tables. Just sayin'.
Well in honor of Glee, and in honor of my friends... I wanted to share with you this link for the Glee auditions. If you didn't know already, well now you do, Glee was holding an open casting call for those around the country to score a spot on the show. I have some crazy-talented friends and one of them decided that she'd try out the at-home video and uploaded an audition! May I introduce you to Lydia Myers, my friend of 20 something years (seriously)!

Weekend Recap
I hope everyone is having a happy Monday so far, the weather is beautiful in Atlanta this morning, which is crazy considering we had tornado warnings all-day Saturday!
This weekend was kind of a milestone for myself and my group of friends. I only talk to a few people from high-school (aren't we all like that? Sometimes I feel bad for not living up to all of the K.I.T.'s I wrote in people's yearbooks.... haha) but those few people are the ones who have seen it all; each crazy stage of life. A couple of those girls are engaged now, and Saturday I had the pleasure and pain of helping throw one of them her very first bridal shower. It was also my very first time throwing a bridal shower, so this was a bit ridiculous for all of us.
Outside of all of the crazy running around, screwed up invitations, potatoes that refused to bake, and a friendly tornado...we pulled it off. I sat back and watched as she opened her gifts and was amazed at how far we have come. How cool to have seen her grow from a skinny flag twirler freshman year to a gorgeous teacher with a strong love for her future husband. Neat-o. The end was a success, she's more than stocked with bowls from Crate & Barrel, we had some kick-ass mojitos, and we've all passed another milestone!

Here is a picture of us from Saturday...you're probably asking why I just didn't go ahead and wear some yellow pants :)
And here is a shot from Kelsey's (bride-to-be) engagement that I shot last spring.

Atlanta Portrait Session | Jodi Kendall- For Real
Today I would like to share with you the final images from Jodi Kendall (Mrs. Passport in My Pocket)! She's been on a whirlwind of traveling over the last couple of months, and during her time in Atlanta we were able to snap some great photos of her! We had a blast...Jodi is easy going, laughs a lot, and is super photogenic. Head on over to her blog to catch up on some really great ideas on things to do around the country, great giveaways, and to see some amazing animal images (she works for National Geographic!).
Thanks for being awesome, Jodi!

Dahlonega Engagement Session | Brad and Alison
A couple of weeks ago I posted a sneak-peak of Brad and Alison's engagement shoot in Dahlonega, GA. Today I am unveiling the entire thing (woot woot!). I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them. Seriously. I think I squeeled after almost every shot, making my first photo-impression with Brad and Alison nothing short of strange. What can I say, I'm easily excited! These two laughing lovebirds will be married July 17, 2010 in Gainesville, GA...a date soon approaching, but still too far away from them!
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!
And my absolute favorite of the bunch...

Putting on my Big-Girl panties.
Lots of 'big girl' things have been happening to me lately.. and when I say 'big girl' I am referencing to the whole 'put your big girl panties on and suck it up' mindset. Sometimes life comes slowly and other times I think it takes a jet shuttle. I'm excited about what's coming up, even though I really don't know exactly what's coming... something tells me to be excited! SO in honor of me putting on my big girl panties, here are some things I'm looking forward to..
1. Making my first car payment -strange but true, I'm looking forward to paying for something.
2. Hiring a bookkeeper -after this last tax season, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make it without one. I'm taking applications now :)
3. Going on Big-Girl trips with my girlfriends- because we can, and because on the weeks the life take a jet-shuttle, you need a good girl-trip full of cheesy pop, good beer, and long car rides.
and this last one for kicks:
5. World Peace.
Have a great Wednesday.. what are you looking forward to?

Baby Baby
As my business begins to grow some more, I've decided that there are a few ventures that I'd like to try out! New ventures are always exciting because it gives you a chance to start out fresh and new, and to do something that has never been done (by you) before! This venture hasn't necessarily never been done by me before, however I'm just now starting to create a focus for it.
What is this I am talking about? I'm so glad you asked, it shows you care :) I'm excited to finally and officially add Babies and Children to my business! This has been in the works for a little while, and I've been thinking more about it since I started nannying (of course) and right now it seems as if this new focus just fits. I'm hoping it goes smoothly (smooth as a baby's bottom? tar har, sorry I had to throw that one in there).
In honor of the new venture I am excited to announce special pricing as follows:

This gives great flexibility for those interested in back-to-school photos, summer birthdays, father's day, mother's day, and summer holidays!

It's Friday... take a break
Yesterday was Thursday, but not just any Thursday..it was Tax Thursday. Whew. So after I finished plugging in numbers and Wishing I was in a different bracket, I submitted my taxes...and took a 'tax break'. It probably wasn't what our government had in mind when they created Tax Breaks, but if I was president, a nap and a beer would settle me.
I took the day to shoot around and learn some things with a new friend. We traveled over to some lofts that I'd shot at MANY times, but it's always good to try to see things from a new perspective. And that we did!
My break was good, and if you haven't taken your 'tax break' yet (which could mean...napping, shopping, vacationing, whining, movie-marathoning) then do it... it's Friday...take a break.
Izzy Soda makes me want to sit in a chair and veg. Captured a few on display outside of the lofts!

Atlanta Portrait Photography | Brad and Joy -5 year anniversary!
So last week I posted an image from my good friend Joy and her husband Brad's recent shoot at the Georgian Terrace in Atlanta. Today I get to share all of those images with you as I handed them off to Joy yesterday!
Joy (check her out here) is the reason why I do weddings (aside from the fact that I can dance and throw back some serious cake). I contact her around this time last year and asked if I could follow her around, and to my surprise she said yes! I have learned so much from her in the past year and am so thankful for her friendship! Her and Brad had their 5year anniversary over Easter Weekend and made it down from Nashville to visit family and have some fun shots taken where they were married. I LOVE these photos, enjoy them for yourselves!
